Dr. Son Nguyen (pronounced “win”) was born in Vietnam and came to the States when he was 18 months old. He spent his childhood growing up right here in Bakersfield. He went to Wayside Elementary, Thompson Jr. High and then graduated from South High School in 1991 as one of the top five students in his class. Dr. Christine Hur is a Southern California native, as she grew up in Orange County and completed her undergraduate studies in the Inland Empire, at the University of California, Riverside, where she received her B.S. in biology. Dr. Hur then went on to complete her optometry doctorate at the Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University. During her clinical training, she served at the Komatke Health Center in the Phoenix, AZ area, the Veterans’ Affair clinic in downtown Los Angeles, and the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center near Washington, DC. Dr. Nina Pham is originally from San Diego and attended the University of California, Los Angeles where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry. Dr. Pham diversified her clinical experience through externships at Tucson VA Medical Center, North Las Vegas VA Medical Center, and a private practice in Las Vegas specializing in ocular disease.
